Beta 1.16.220.52 is the third and final beta version for Minecraft:Bedrock Edition 1.16.220, released on March 18, 2021,<ref>Template:Cite</ref> which adds new lush caves blocks and changes the Minecraft:world generation downwards to Y=-64 behind experimental toggle.
Experimental
These additions and changes are accessible by enabling the "Caves & Cliffs" experimental toggles.
Blocks
- Bush block which can be planted on Minecraft:dirt and grass blocks.
- Has either no blossoms or purple blossoms.
- Azalea can grow from moss blocks when bone meal is used.
- Can be used as fuel.
- Available under Experimental Gameplay.
Azalea Leaves
- Has either no blossoms or purple blossoms.
- Yield azalea and sticks on decay.

Cave Vines

- Berries can be harvested by Template:Ctrl with the vine.
- Grow from glow berries when placed on the underside of a block.
- Available under Experimental Gameplay.
Dripleaf
- Allows an entity to stay on it for 1.5 seconds (30 Minecraft:ticks), before the entity will fall through it.
- The tilt happens in 3 stages: unstable, partial and full.
- All the stages are solid except the full stage, which is when the player falls through.
- When nobody is standing on it, it is set to none stage.
- The tilt happens in 3 stages: unstable, partial and full.
- Comes in two sizes: small and big. Small can be applied bone meal to grow into big.
- Small Dripleaf can only be obtained with Minecraft:shears (otherwise breaks), and can only be planted on Minecraft:clay or underwater on clay and Minecraft:dirt blocks.
- Big Dripleaf can be obtained with any Minecraft:tool or by hand as well as breaking it using projectiles and can be planted on grass and dirt blocks.
- The tilt can also be triggered by hitting the plant with a projectile.
- The tilt can be prevented by powering it with Minecraft:redstone, but hitting it with a projectile still tilts.
- Available under Experimental Gameplay.
- Decorative blocks that can only be placed on the underside of a block.
- Obtained with Minecraft:shears, otherwise breaks.
- Available under Experimental Gameplay.
- An opaque block with a grassy texture on all sides.
- Can be bonemealed to grow grass, tall grass, moss carpets and both types of azaleas on it and in its vicinity.
- Available under Experimental Gameplay.
- Uses the same texture as the moss block, but one pixel thick.
- Crafted with moss blocks.
- Available under Experimental Gameplay.
- Decorative block with roots on its texture.
- Similar to coarse dirt, neither Minecraft:mycelium nor grass spread to it.
- Using a hoe turns it into normal Minecraft:dirt and drops a hanging roots.
- Using bone meal on some will grow hanging roots underneath.
- Available under Experimental Gameplay.
- Can only be placed on the underside of a block.
- Sends particles downward and around the spore blossom when opened.
- Available under Experimental Gameplay.
- Now has sounds for being dyed.

- Chances of cleaning and number of reverted stages are higher the closer to the struck block.

- Renamed Copper Block to Block of Copper.
- Removed the word "Block" from oxidized variants of Block of Copper, including waxed variants.

World generation
Minecraft:Lush Caves generation
- Currently added as a feature code file, does not generate in the overworld yet, and can only be generated using add-ons.
- Adaptive to the environment: every type of cave generation can be a lush cave.
- Moss covers the floors and ceilings, along with moss carpets and grass on the floors.
- Minecraft:Spore Blossoms grow from the ceiling and drip particles.
- Contains Minecraft:clay pools where dripleaf plants grow out of them.
- Minecraft:Clay pools will sometimes generate Minecraft:water sources over Minecraft:air, and the water is suspended and does not flow. This has yet to be fixed.
- Contains Minecraft:azalea bushes (both variants).
- Cave vines with glow berries grow from the ceiling and light up the caves.
Altitude
- Generation range and build limits have been expanded by 64 blocks down, to a total range of 384 blocks.
- To allow old world to generate with the new build limits, old chunks will generate Bedrock layers all the way to Y=-64 to fill up the void gap between Y=0 and Y=-64.
Structures
- Underground Minecraft:caves, canyons and structures now generate all the way down to Y=-64.
