Early years
He started drawing at four and realized it was something that he enjoyed doing daily. He took in as much art as he could, from comics to museums. After high school, he was accepted into Ringling College of Art and Design, earning a BFA in Illustration.<ref name=":1">Character artist Brett Briley, Artstation, August 7, 2014</ref>
On graduating, I took an animation internship at Disney. Shortly thereafter, a hiring freeze for animators ensued. He stayed at Disney in the merchandising branch for a few years until he realized the animation freeze was going to continue indefinitely.<ref name=":1" />
He decided to try his luck in the game industry and attended an E3 expo with his portfolio in hand, where he found his first placement as a concept/game artist.<ref name=":1" />
