Dragonwilds:Anti-Dragon Shield

From SAS Gaming Wiki
Revision as of 11:00, 22 August 2026 by SyncBot (talk | contribs) (Sync: updated from Dragonwilds)

Template:External Template:Infobox Item The Anti-dragon shield is a Dragonwilds:power level 3 Dragonwilds:masterwork Dragonwilds:shield that can be crafted at a Dragonwilds:blacksmith's bench after obtaining the recipe from Dragonwilds:Vertentis Kara, the Dragonwilds:dragonkin vault in the Dragonwilds:Whispering Swamp. It is also one of the rewards for completing the Dragonwilds:Dragon Slayer quest, and is used as a material to craft the Dragonwilds:dragonblight shield, Dragonwilds:dragoncurse shield and the Dragonwilds:dragonfire shield. It can be ascended at the Dragonwilds:mystic forge using Dragonwilds:ascension cores.

Its special effect allows the user to block incoming dragon fire without being staggered. This includes the sweeping breath attack that all Dragonwilds:dragons perform, as well as the poison spit from Dragonwilds:green dragons, the spinning fire from Dragonwilds:Imaru, the lightning ball from Dragonwilds:blue dragons, and the fireball from Dragonwilds:red dragons and Dragonwilds:Fuzan. This does not include any ground-based effects like Dragonwilds:Velgar's poison breath/barrage and earth spikes, Dragonwilds:Imaru's Dragonwilds:wither projectiles and spikes, and Dragonwilds:Fuzan's lava floor. Notably, despite not being listed, this special effect is also present on the Dragonwilds:dragonblight shield and Dragonwilds:dragoncurse shield but not on the Dragonwilds:dragonfire shield.

All of that being said, Dragonwilds:Tempest Shield will block all incoming damage (excluding any ground-based attacks), including the projectiles and spikes that weren't blockable even with the special effect, and that is available even with two-handed weapons. Otherwise, all Dragonwilds:vestige and Dragonwilds:masterwork Dragonwilds:shields can be ascended to the highest Dragonwilds:power level and will have the same block value, with the exception of the Dragonwilds:fallen hoplite's aspis which has 3 more and the Dragonwilds:toktz-ket-xil which has 6 less. Therefore, the optimal Dragonwilds:shield choice will come down to their Dragonwilds:special effects, and this Dragonwilds:shield may often be chosen as it can block dragonfire but will not interfere with staggers caused by parries, unlike the other dragon shields.

Trivia

  • Even though the game's lore journal states it "surpasses the strength of iron", it only has a rating of 39 block. This is identical to a Dragonwilds:bronze shield, whereas an Dragonwilds:iron shield has 46 block.
  • Since it's release, the shield is the only item, aside from quest items and ammunitions, that does not drop into the Dragonwilds:gravestone when a player dies, it instead stays in the inventory.
  • The shield's appearance is a mix of Template:OSL and its own design. It keeps the same colour and sword-shaped symbol in the front with the three dragon claws, which is consistent with the Template:RSL version. The main difference lies in the shape of the shield, while Old School RuneScape’s version features a more squared design, RuneScape’s version is an elongated hexagonal or heater-shaped shield, giving it a more vertical look.
