Tinted glass drops as an item when broken with any tool or by hand, unlike other Minecraft:glass.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>

The light from a glowstone block is completely blocked by tinted glass.

Tinted glass behaves like an opaque block, blocking light and Minecraft:beacon beams completely, despite being visually transparent. However, it isn't a solid block, and as with regular glass, mobs do not suffocate inside it. Unlike other types of glass, it cannot be turned into glass panes. Mobs do not spawn on top, similar to regular glass.

Note blocks

Tinted glass can be placed under note blocks to produce "hat" sound.

History

Trivia

• Tinted glass shares the same name as a block in the Java Edition 2.0 April Fools' update, although that iteration of the block was more similar to stained glass.
