At first glance you might just assume this is poison, for the cadavaberry is a dangerous fruit. Yet with careful preparation, and an appropriate amount of boiling, the berry can become a sharp but not fatal addition to any dessert.

Mixed with water, it becomes an empowering infusion that puts a spring in your step. Partially because your body is reminded at just how close it came to death in drinking it, so it makes the most of the life it has left.
