Minecraft:Smithing Template

From SAS Gaming Wiki
Revision as of 20:57, 9 April 2026 by SyncBot (talk | contribs) (Fix template calls: add MC/ prefix)

Template:Redirect Template:Infobox item A smithing template is an Minecraft:item that can be applied to a Minecraft:tool or Minecraft:armor using a smithing table, which consumes the template. They are only found in Minecraft:structures, but Minecraft:diamonds can be used to craft copies.

The 18 armor trim smithing templates are used to apply customizable decorations to armor.

Netherite upgrades are required to create netherite tools and armor.

Variants

There are 19 types of smithing templates, of which 18 are armor trim templates and 1 is an upgrade template.

Some armor trim patterns are based on a Minecraft:mob or Minecraft:block found in the same Minecraft:structure as the corresponding smithing template. For example, the snout armor trim resembles a Minecraft:piglin.<ref name=":0">"Some of the armor trims reflect the place where you found the template, for example bastions contain a piglin-inspired trim." - Sofia Dankis - Template:Mcnet</ref>

Obtaining

Smithing templates can be found in various structures and can be duplicated by crafting the smithing template with seven diamonds and its corresponding material.

Mob loot

Elder guardians have a 20% chance to drop 1 tide armor trim upon death. Looting does not affect the chance, and the elder guardian does not need to be killed by a player in order for the trim to drop. Template:Drop sources

Generated loot

Script error: No such module "lootChest". Note: In woodland mansions, only chests with random loot have the chance to contain the Vex Smithing Template; chests in the "Allium room", "Sapling farm", "Tree-chopping room", and "Fake End portal room" always generate with the same loot, specific to their respective rooms.

Usage

Crafting ingredient

in Template:Editions, spire, tide, and dune armor trims can be duplicated with more blocks than in Template:Editions. In addition to the normal blocks, tide armor trims can be duplicated using prismarine bricks or dark prismarine, dune armor trims can be duplicated with smooth sandstone, cut sandstone, or chiseled sandstone, and spire armor trims can be duplicated with purpur pillars.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>

Trivia

  • Smithing templates were originally named "smithing blueprints" during development; this was changed because the word "blueprint" sounded too modern and technical.<ref>

  • When Gnembon was working on armor trims, he accidentally messed up their rendering, making them jet through the player's body in a weird fashion, similar to what appears in

  • When lapis lazuli is used as trim material, it is called "Lapis" instead of its full name "Lapis Lazuli"; this is the only instance of the abbreviation "Lapis" being used in-game.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>
  • The flow armor trim is the only armor trim not to use a block as its duplicating material, using the breeze rod.
  • Leather armor has 12,326,391 colors. Counting the other types, there's a total of 12,326,398 Minecraft:helmet types, which when adding trims results in a total of 2,231,078,038 + 1 = 2,231,078,038 Minecraft:helmet combinations (+1 for no helmet). For Minecraft:chestplate, Minecraft:leggings and Minecraft:boots, there's 2,231,077,857 + 1 = 2,231,077,858 for each. The total number of variants for a full set of leather armor for different colors and trims is 2,231,077,858^3 * 2,231,078,038 = 24,777,582,998,650,065,347,944,814,664,637,019,056.<ref>BE only (for now)</ref>
