Minecraft:Shrub

From SAS Gaming Wiki
Revision as of 11:12, 3 June 2026 by SyncBot (talk | contribs) (Sync: updated from Minecraft)

Template:Outdated feature Template:Exclusive Template:Infobox block

The shrub is an unused variant of Minecraft:short grass exclusive to the Minecraft:Legacy Console Edition that does not generate naturally. It was also present in both Java and Bedrock editions, where, in the latter, it used the name fern and took the appearance of short grass.

Obtaining

Template:IN, the shrub can be obtained only through the Minecraft:creative menu. Template:IN, it could be obtained only by using Minecraft:commands such as Template:Cmd or placed in the world using commands such as Template:Cmd.

Breaking

When broken normally, shrubs have a Template:Frac chance of dropping Minecraft:wheat seeds, due to being a type of grass. This drop rate is affected by Minecraft:Fortune like normal grass as well. Shrubs can be obtained as an item using Minecraft:shears.

Usage

Bone meal

Template:Exclusive Minecraft:Bone meal can be used on short grass to create Minecraft:large fern.

Appearance

Template:IN, the shrub used the texture of a Minecraft:dead bush. The only visual difference between the shrub and the dead bush was that the shrub appeared randomly off-centered and sunk into the ground, like Minecraft:short grass and Minecraft:ferns.

Template:IN, the "fern" used the texture of Minecraft:short grass, which was also biome-colored.

Color

Template:IN, shrubs appear similar to Template:El, but they change Minecraft:color based on the biome they are placed in, similar to the Minecraft:green shrub.

These values are generated by the biome dyeing algorithm, which depends on the biome's temperature and downfall. See Minecraft:biome colors for more information.
