Who Buys What
The Project: Gorgon wiki categorizes NPCs that purchase or sell items as a Shopkeeper. There are two sub-categories under shopkeeper, Buyer and Seller. An NPC shopkeeper can have both sub-categories, or just one. Not every shopkeeper NPC will purchase items from players. ProjectGorgon:Aven is an example of an NPC who only offers items for sale.
The following table summarizes which Buyer sub-category NPCs purchase items at full or near value.
Notes:
- Transmutation/Augmentation-related items includes Phlogiston, Baubles, Ornaments, Beads, Contraptions, and Prisms, as well as Augments themselves.
- Be aware that Cap Per Item under Spending Limits is affected by your character's in-game skills, including Civic Pride. When editing the Spending Limits, please remember to divide your item cap by the value of 'NPC Max Purchase Caps' in the Persona>Stats screen (it's towards the bottom, third to last section titled 'General Stats').
- For a list of NPC Shopkeepers that speak with ProjectGorgon:Beast Forms, follow this link to that table.
- Selling too many items to a merchant can cause them to run out of ProjectGorgon:Councils.
- A merchant's cash resets 7 days after the first sale you made that week.
- Hovering your cursor over a merchant's councils will display how long until the merchant's cash resets.
- If you level up a merchant's favor, their cash pool will immediately increase by the difference between the new favor level's maximum and the previous's. For example, Azalak has a pool of 10k at Friends, and 15k at Close Friends. Suppose a player is Friends with Azalak and sells him 9k worth of products, leaving him with 1k. Then if the player raises Azalak's favor level to Close Friends, the new pool will be 6k (the 1k he had left plus the 5k from going from Friends to Close Friends).
✱ Very useful vendor who buys a wide variety of items at decent prices.
