Paradoxical Time Conundrum!

[This is a sheaf of scribbled notes. A few catch your eye:]

It's true, gods it's true. Revelion gave up his Hope to know it. But what does it mean?

"Simultaneous events don't happen."

How can that be true!?

---

We see time as a dimension, an axis. But if simultaneous events don't happen, that is wrong. Proven wrong!

--- Demon interrogation continues. Am convinced that their conception of time is similar to ours. They believe simultaneous events do happen.

One demon had very bizarre notions that time behaves erratically when moving a certain speed, which he insisted is the "fastest speed". Must test if this is true.

---

Having greater difficulty than expected measuring speed of light relative to other things. J recommends consult with Janice Alberith. Apprehensive but will proceed.

---

Consulted with Janice Alberith. Her ideas were very helpful. I have a new experiment! It requires cooperation with my friend in distant Muldenere, and I will need to make many preparations.

---

I am satisfied with my latest experiment. Hypothesis that light moves at the fastest possible speed disproven. Sending stones work faster!

If the demons are wrong about such a fundamental idea, perhaps they are not a good source of information.

Or perhaps there is a flaw in my experiments.

OR they were lying to me. Wasting my time. This seems most likely.

---

Still at a loss. In some way, somehow, simultaneous events don't happen. And yet they do. It's easy to show that they do.

So what insight is this phrase intended to convey?

I have spun this problem in my mind for too long. Must contact Laeth to get the truth! By all accounts, contacting Laeth carries a heavy price. I must find someone to pay it for me.

In the meantime I shall find that old crone Imatia. If anyone has ever figured this out before me (which I rather doubt), she would know who.
