A redstone bug was an April Fools' variant of the Minecraft:silverfish introduced exclusively in Minecraft:Java Edition 2.0.
Spawn
Redstone bugs can spawn if a redstone wire increases the strength. The chance that they spawn is 1%. The chance increases for every Minecraft:redstone bug in a 7×7×7 area by 5%. The Color value of the bug can reach from 33292288 to 66846720.
Behavior
Redstone bugs, effectively being reskinned Minecraft:silverfish, shared all of their behavior.

Entity data
Redstone bugs used the ID of Minecraft:silverfish, different from them only by a newly-added Color NBT, which could have any color applied to it via editing. The first byte defines the alpha value and the other three the rgb color.
