StarCitizen:Odin

From SAS Gaming Wiki
Revision as of 11:31, 1 May 2026 by SyncBot (talk | contribs) (Sync: updated from Star Citizen)

Template:Vehicle

The Odin is a [[StarCitizen::Category:Battlecruisers|battlecruiser]] capital ship manufactured by StarCitizen:Anvil Aerospace.

A result of the $17 million StarCitizen:Stretch goal,<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> the Anvil Aerospace Odin battlecruiser is an upcoming concept anticipated for StarCitizen:Invictus Launch Week 2956Template:Fact and is expected to be the final ship sold as a concept instead of straight to flyable.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

The ship was teased in an update to the Anvil Aerospace portfolio and named in an otherwise empty Galactapedia article, both of which were then verified to be the battlecruiser by StarCitizen:Jared Huckaby at the end of an April StarCitizen:Star Citizen Live.<ref>Star Citizen Live: Q&A Inventory & Crafting. Speculation

Following typical naval convention, a Battlecruiser is expected to be larger than a StarCitizen:Destroyer (which are known in StarCitizen:The Verse as the smallest of the [[StarCitizen::Category:Ships of the line|ships of the line]]) while being smaller than a StarCitizen:battleship or StarCitizen:Fleet Carrier. A battlecruiser is unlikely to possess significant hangar capacity as this would intrude on the StarCitizen:Escort Carrier classification. How a battlecruiser would be differentiated from a StarCitizen:Cruiser is unknown.

Recently released information states that the Odin is twice the volume of the Aegis StarCitizen:Javelin, is very crew intensive, and that the Odin is the first battlecruiser-class vessel ever built. Access to its initial procurement is being restricted to members of the new and select "Odin Founders Club".<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

Trivia

  • Odin is regarded as the paramount deity in Norse mythology, often referred to as the "All-Father" and the sovereign of Asgard. He embodies a multifaceted nature, linked to themes of warfare, knowledge, sorcery, literature, and mortality, frequently portrayed as a one-eyed, robed traveler. Odin presides over Valhalla, where he collects the valiant warriors (Einherjar) in preparation for the ultimate confrontation of Ragnarök.<ref>Wikipedia Odin</ref>
