Dragonwilds:Fishing

Fishing is a skill that released on 21 April 2026 alongside the 0.11.1 update and is Dragonwilds' eleventh skill. While originally meant to be coupled with the release of Dragonwilds:Dowdun Reach, Jagex had confirmed to hold back on releasing the skill to fine-tune it more with the increased skill cap of 99.

To train this skill, players must use fishing-related tools (such as nets or fishing rods and bait) to catch fish in rivers and lakes. Fish can be used for Dragonwilds:Cooking, Dragonwilds:Crafting, or to just "show off with base trophies". Dragonwilds:Magic can also be used to interact with the Fishing skill in some way. In order to begin training this skill, players must first make their first net (aka Dragonwilds:Coarse Net) and start the Dragonwilds:Shrimp Catcher quest.

Constructs

Mechanics

To train this skill, players must use the corresponding tools with their respective Fishing Spots. Nets can only be used in Net Fishing Spots and fishing rods (with bait) only work on Rod Fishing Spots.

With Net Fishing, you must use the LMB to trawl your net in a net fishing spot to acquire fish and random junk (like Stone or Weeds).

Rod Fishing Spots, however, require more work than their Net counterparts. To catch fish from these spots, you must also use the A and D keys to move the rod left or right. This will tire out the fish and allow you to reel it in. Use the LMB to reel in your fish.

• Dragonwilds:Angler's Hat - Provides a 10% chance to not deplete a fishing node when catching a fish.
• Dragonwilds:Magic armour in the chest slot - Lowers the Dragonwilds:Stamina regen delay by 50%, increasing how quickly Stamina returns when running betweeen fishing nodes.
• Dragonwilds:Leggings of Lightness - Provides 50 additional carry weight (Raw Giant Krill alone weigh 2.9 each).
• Dragonwilds:Inspiring Ring of Fishing - Provides an additional 5% experience gain while worn.
• Dragonwilds:Knowledgable Nourishment - Provides an additional 10% experience gain while active.

• Dragonwilds:Weak Focused Fishing from Dragonwilds:Weak Focused Fishing Potion - Provides an additional 15% experience gain for 300s.
• Dragonwilds:Lesser Focused Fishing from Dragonwilds:Lesser Focused Fishing Potion - Provides an additional 15% experience gain for 600s.
• Dragonwilds:Focused Fishing from Dragonwilds:Focused Fishing Potion - Provides an additional 30% experience gain for 300s.

Levelling up Fishing grants access to both passive benefits as well as unlocking Dragonwilds:Spells and other abilities.

3	Fishing Rod	Passive	Unlocks the ability to craft Fishing Rods.
10	Dragonwilds:Fishing Frenzy	Spell	Enchant a fishing node. Each successful catch provide an additional fish of the same type while the effect lasts.
17	Pristine Fish	Passive	Unlocks the ability to catch rare Pristine fish, which yields more food when cooked, or can be used as a decoration.
23	Fish Weight Reduction	Passive	Reduces the carry weight of all fish by 25%.
30	Dragonwilds:Infernal Rod	Spell	Enchant your currently equipped rod with fire for 2 minutes. All fish caught with that rod during the effect are instantly cooked.
34	Fish Barrel Storage	Passive	Unlocks the fishing barrel structure. A very high capacity storage for fishes.
39	Dragonwilds:Tackle Box	Passive	Unlocks the recipe to build a storage box for your baits.
43	Troubled Waters	Passive	Fishing Frenzy now reduces fish's maximum stamina by 15% while spell is active.
49	Increase Net Fishing Catch Chance	Passive	Increase the net fishing catch chance to 75%.
55	Dragonwilds:Fishnado	Spell	Conjure a tornado that pulls out up to 5 fish from a fishing node.
60	Greater Fishnado	Passive	Reduces the cooldown for the Fishnado spell.
70	Experienced Angler	Passive	Chance for no depletion on catch.
99	Fishing Skillcape	Passive	Unlocks the ability to craft and wear the Fishing Skillcape and its trimmed variant.
