Storm Securities is a StarCitizen:human private military company based in StarCitizen:New Junction on StarCitizen:Lo in the StarCitizen:Corel system. It has a contested public reputation, having clashed with the StarCitizen:Advocacy and become entangled in the failed assassination of StarCitizen:Imperator StarCitizen:Kelos Costigan.
In 2945, a team of Storm Securities contractors protecting a cargo hauler repelled an attack by members of the StarCitizen:Otoni Syndicate, one of whom was later found to be an undercover Advocacy agent who was killed in the exchange. The Advocacy maintained that the agent had identified himself and surrendered before Storm Securities operatives opened fire, while the company's legal team contended that the agent never identified himself and was an active participant in the attempted abduction. Storm Securities was ultimately cleared of all charges.<ref name="fog">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
More recently, the Advocacy raided Storm Securities' New Junction headquarters while serving a warrant relating to StarCitizen:Maurice Vano, the failed assassin who made an attempt on Imperator Costigan's life.<ref name="kaizen">Template:Cite RSI</ref> Vano was shot dead while fleeing the failed attempt, which also left one UEE marine of the StarCitizen:1st Marine Combat Battalion dead.<ref name="shadow-state">Template:Cite RSI</ref> It has since been alleged that the company financed the assassination attempt, though Storm Securities has stated that its payments to Vano were solely for contract security services provided.<ref name="shadow-state" />
History
In 2945, a team of Storm Securities contractors was hired to protect a cargo hauler. When the hauler was attacked by members of the Otoni Syndicate, the contractors fought off the attackers, only to discover that one of them was an undercover Advocacy agent who had been killed in the engagement. The Advocacy pursued the company over the agent's death, claiming that he had identified himself and surrendered before being fired upon. Storm Securities was ultimately cleared of all charges after roughly a year of legal proceedings.<ref name="shadow-state" />
In StarCitizen:2947, Maurice Vano attempted to assassinate Imperator Kelos Costigan. The attempt failed, but a member of the 1st Marine Combat Battalion was killed, and Vano himself was shot dead while fleeing the scene.<ref name="shadow-state" /> After evidence surfaced that Storm Securities had made payments to Vano, the Advocacy raided the company's New Junction headquarters in search of further information.<ref name="kaizen" /> A report by the Terra Gazette subsequently alleged that the company had made several payments over the preceding months to a shell company owned by Vano. Storm Securities responded that the payments were solely for contract security services provided.<ref name="kaizen" /> Founder StarCitizen:Hamsa Paul denied that the company had financed the assassination attempt, noting that it had been cleared in the earlier Advocacy case as well.<ref name="shadow-state" />
