History

Long before the dwarves arrived in Dragonwilds:Ashenfall, an ancient and monstrous creature lay dormant beneath the Dragonwilds:Umbral Sands, something that by any reasonable account simply shouldn't exist.Template:CiteJournal When a dwarven expedition came upon the region's deposits of Dragonwilds:adamant and other treasures, their approach roused the slumbering beast, and it surged up in an attempt to swallow the entire party in a single strike.Template:CiteJournal Karibdos attacked by drawing its prey into a churning vortex of sand, and several explorers were lost to it before the rest could escape.Template:CiteJournal The survivors' weapons couldn't pierce its hide, and the beast withdrew to its slumber to wait for another chance.Template:CiteJournal
