Template:Exclusive

This page shows the debug mode layout for development versions, however, it currently has no versions in development.

For the current grid of blocks, see Minecraft:Debug mode/Grid

For the latest schedule changes, see Template:Slink

For the block states added in the next drop that have already been confirmed in Minecraft:Minecraft Live – May 2026, see Template:Slink

Planned block states

Template:Planned

Considering the blocks planned for the Minecraft:third drop 2026, with officially announced, there will possibly be 1,960 new block states in the next grid. The final grid may have a different number of block states, either because it has more blocks or some blocks may not have the states possibly listed below.

Unconfirmed blocks

There are also an unconfirmed block: Minecraft:straw bed. We don't know their block states, but due to their functionality being similar to a bed, it's likely they share the same states as a bed, 16. Totaling 1,976 block states.

Last block states added

The Java Edition 26.2 block grid have 2,469 new blocks states, compared to the Java Edition 26.1.2 grid. All the new blocks, except for the sulfur spike, are located between the Minecraft:chiseled tuff bricks (row 138, column 27 and coordinates Template:Cd) and Minecraft:calcite (row 151, column 161 and coordinates Template:Cd). The sulfur spike is located between Minecraft:pointed dripstone (row 168, column 70 and coordinates Template:Cd) and Minecraft:cave_vines (row 169, column 10 and coordinates Template:Cd)

26.1 changes

Changes to the 26.1 state blocks

Other changes

In Minecraft:26.2 Snapshot 3, the order of the Minecraft:pointed dripstone and Minecraft:dripstone block has been changed. Previously, the pointed dripstone was before the dripstone block; now it is after. Presumably to create a more harmonious order: dripstone block, pointed dripstone, and sulfur spike.

Changes like this are very rare since flattening. It only happened once with Minecraft:pumpkin in Minecraft:23w40a.
