Wingman's Hangar was a series of weekly videos from Eric "Wingman" Peterson which ran for 72 episodes from December 21st 2012 to June 4th 2014.<ref>Wingman's Hangar ending - An explanation, Wingman, May 2014, archived</ref> It was replaced by StarCitizen:Around the Verse.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
It had evolved from a shtick Eric Peterson had done during the fundraiser where he set up a web camera in the hallway away from the main conference room and did his own comedy bits.<ref name=":0" /> Chris Roberts told him that he should do a show every week.<ref>Meet Ben Lesnick, All of Us - AU's Gaming & Nerd Culture Webcast, Youtube, July 11, 2026</ref>
One of the promises of the fundraiser was a weekly webcast about the ongoing game development, and the Hangar was born.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
The video series was very informal and due to the lack of substantial news regarding the development of the game at that point in time a lot of the contents were skits, lore pieces and community submissions.

- One of the community submissions was StarCitizen:Jared Huckaby's video of a modded StarCitizen:Hangar Module with a StarCitizen:PTV racetrack. Jared would go on to work for StarCitizen:Cloud Imperium as the host of the later official video series StarCitizen:Inside Star Citizen.
- The logo was made by a fan.
