ProjectGorgon:Winter Holiday 2020

The holidays are upon us! While ProjectGorgon:Alharth doesn't celebrate Christmas, it does celebrate Ri-Shin Day, and New Years' Day. Townsfolk who are your [Friends] will offer you gifts when you speak with them. (Make sure to have your favorite combat skills active in case they give you a piece of randomly-generated gear!)
There's also a Ri-Shin festival waiting to happen in each city and township in the land, but they will need your help getting their trees assembled. Look for townsfolk in festive red Ri-Shin hats to get started.
This year, there's also a new way for the community to work together. This is an experiment -- we've never tried anything like this before. You'll receive an introductory quest for this part of the event after you've assembled a few Ri-Shin trees. (If you're a Druid, you'll be briefed immediately upon login.)

The ProjectGorgon:Winter Holiday of ProjectGorgon:Ri-Shin celebrates the victory of the god of plants and trees over ProjectGorgon:Vol-Mu, a former god of winter. Although the holiday was popularized by humans on ProjectGorgon:Alharth, most other races enthusiastically join the festive spirt of the season as well. The holiday season lasts from the start of ProjectGorgon:Ri-Shin through the New Year's celebration. The 2020 event began on December 11th and ended January 22nd.

Shrine of Ri-Shin

Found west of the ProjectGorgon:Eltibule portal in the ProjectGorgon:Kur Mountains, the Shrine of Ri-Shin is an anchor of the god of plants and trees. Maintained primarily by ProjectGorgon:Snowleaf and the Druids of ProjectGorgon:Alharth, the shrine offers rewards to those who seek the bounty of ProjectGorgon:Ri-Shin.

The blessing of ProjectGorgon:Ri-Shin can be received by travelers standing in the shrine that speak words of praise in Nearby chat, Praise Ri-Shin, guardian of the shrine!

Unlocking the Shrine

While ProjectGorgon:Druids automatically unlock a quest allowing them to donate items to the shrine through ProjectGorgon:Snowleaf, adventurers pledged to other gods, or none at all, must prove themselves a friend of ProjectGorgon:Ri-Shin. Not-Druids must decorate Ri-Shin trees, which raises a hidden favor value with ProjectGorgon:Ri-Shin. Completely decorating the trees in ProjectGorgon:Serbule Hills, ProjectGorgon:Serbule, ProjectGorgon:Eltibule, and ProjectGorgon:Sun Vale is enough to demonstrate to ProjectGorgon:Ri-Shin your dedication to the holiday spirit, however mostly completing quests at more than four trees can also work.

Shrine Tasks

Each task given by ProjectGorgon:Snowleaf requires a quantity of items sacred to ProjectGorgon:Ri-Shin to be gathered and turned in. ProjectGorgon:Snowleaf calculates the value of donations to the shrine using a cumulative point system.

Tree Decorating

Ten undecorated Ri-Shin trees can be discovered across ProjectGorgon:Alharth, usually in areas populated by friendly NPCs. An NPC near each tree, usually wearing a red Ri-Shin hat, will automatically give out a quest associated with the decorating of their tree. Adventurers must continue to speak to the NPC, accepting additional quests from their Do Favor menu to actually complete the tree.

Once a tree is fully decorated, a present will appear under it. For the rest of the event, a new present will appear under each completed tree. The respawn time for a present is sixteen hours.
