Template:Main The set comes with ornate pieces inspired by players and mobs, playable on an 18-inch grass-themed board. White pieces have the theme of "Minecraft:Overworld Heros", with Minecraft:Steve and Minecraft:Alex being the King and Queen, accomponied by further Minecraft:Overworld mobs. History

According to Julian Montoya, Senior Vice President of The Noble Collection, Minecraft:Microsoft thought around 2022 was an appropriate time to branch into collectible merchendise since earlies teenagers playing Minecraft would have been older adults. He claimed Microsoft chose them due to their portfolio with other brands.<ref name="video">Template:Cite</ref>

The Noble Collection's Minecraft line was first revealed to consumers at the 2022 Template:W.<ref name="video"/> It was first available exclusively for purchase at the 2023 New York Comic Con on October 12 and 13 at Booth #1061, with the Diamond Sword Colector Replica exclusively pre-orderable by attendees.<ref name="release">Template:Cite</ref> The collection at launch also had all items in the Illuminating Collector Replica series and the Minecraft Chess Set,<ref name="release"/> with Montoya claiming the products were made in close collaboration with Mojang's art team.<ref>Template:Cite</ref> The collection became available online and at retailers on October 14, 2023.<ref name="release"/>

Montoyo said in January 2024 that variants of Minecraft:swords were being considered, with a Minecraft:pickaxe "in the work".<ref name="video"/>
