Minecraft:Pale Oak Leaves

From SAS Gaming Wiki
Revision as of 11:16, 30 September 2026 by SyncBot (talk | contribs) (Sync: updated from Minecraft)

Template:Infobox block Pale oak leaves are Minecraft:leaves that form the canopy of Minecraft:pale oak trees. They are colored gray which does not change with the Minecraft:biome they are placed in.

Obtaining

Breaking

Minecraft:Hoes are the default tools for breaking leaves, but leaves can be obtained only with Minecraft:shears or tools Minecraft:enchanted with Minecraft:Silk Touch.

Template:Breaking row

Without shears, pale oak leaves can drop 1 Minecraft:pale oak sapling, 1—2 Minecraft:sticks, and 1 Minecraft:apple. Minecraft:Fortune increases the chances.

Drop No Fortune Fortune I Fortune II Fortune III
Template:BlockLink 5% (Template:Frac) 6.25% (Template:Frac) 8.33% (Template:Frac 10% (Template:Frac)

Natural generation

Pale oak leaves occur naturally on Minecraft:pale oak trees in Minecraft:pale gardens. They also generate as part of Minecraft:abandoned camps in pale gardens.

Post-generation

Template:See also Pale oak leaves generate as part of trees grown from Minecraft:pale oak saplings.

Usage

Template:Main Pale oak leaves that decay have the same drop chances as when broken by players, yielding Minecraft:pale oak saplings 5% (Template:Frac) of the time, Minecraft:sticks 2% of the time, and otherwise nothing. Leaves that are burned do not drop saplings.

Unlike most other leaves, pale oak leaves are always colored gray regardless of the Minecraft:biome they are placed in. They also do not become white during Minecraft:snowfall.

Smelting ingredient

Template:Smelting

Redstone component

Template:Exclusive The state of a leaves block—including a player-placed block—changes after 1 game tick (half a redstone tick) when the distance to the nearest Minecraft:log or Minecraft:wood block changes, up to 6 blocks of leaves away. Minecraft:Observers facing away from the leaves detect this change and transmit a redstone signal in the same game tick, making leaves useful for redstone signal transmission.

Piston interactivity

Leaves are destroyed when pushed by Minecraft:pistons. They do not stick to Minecraft:sticky pistons, Minecraft:slime blocks, or Minecraft:honey blocks.

Composting

Pale oak leaves have a 30% chance of increasing the compost level in a Minecraft:composter by 1. A stack of leaves yields an average of 3.05 Minecraft:bone meal.

Particles

Particles falling from pale oak leaves

Pale oak leaves produce falling leaves Minecraft:particles underneath the leaf block, where they slowly fall to the ground. They are always colored gray like the block.

Trivia

  • Occasionally, leaves grow through other blocks, acting as though they are still connected to the tree. They may also completely replace blocks they try to grow into.
  • Some trees seem to occasionally drop saplings without being destroyed due to creation of leaf blocks not supported by logs.
