15w47a is the forty-first Minecraft:snapshot for Minecraft:Java Edition 1.9, released on November 18, 2015.<ref>Template:Link</ref>

Changes

Blocks

Minecraft:Beacon

• Now is able to keep an item in its inventory slot.
  • No longer drops the item from the slot if the beacon is destroyed or the interface is exited before the 'accept' button is pressed.
• Now interacts with hoppers.

Minecraft:Daylight sensor

• No longer emits a signal at night when sufficiently shaded.

Minecraft:Redstone comparator

• Side inputs now take power from redstone blocks.

Minecraft:Redstone block

• Now updates adjacent blocks' power state correctly.
• Never transmits power through blocks.

Minecraft:Trapped chest

• Now changes its texture when the computer time is set to the 24th to 26th of December to suit Christmas.

Mobs

Minecraft:Shulker

• Now drops experience.

Non-mob entities

Minecraft:Armor stands

• Wobbles slightly when being hit.
• No longer have Silent enabled by default.

World generation

Minecraft:Jungle bushes

• Leaves no longer replace blocks other than air or leaves when generating the tree.

Command format

Minecraft:NBT format

• Beacon block entity
  • PaymentItem Item held in the beacon's slot.

Minecraft:Sound events

• Added entity.armorstand.place, entity.armorstand.fall, entity.armorstand.hit, and entity.armorstand.break.
  • These are used for the Minecraft:armor stand.

General

Minecraft:Skins

• Overlay layers (hat, jacket, sleeves, and pants) correctly render semitransparent pixels, instead of only fully opaque and fully transparent pixels.

Hitbox Margin

• Removed the default hitbox margin for entities.

Trivia

• 15w47a was previously removed from the Minecraft:launcher for some time, but was added back in September 2018.
• This snapshot was released exactly 4 years after the full release of Template:JE.
  • It has since remained the most recent version of Template:JE to be released on the exact anniversary of the game's full release.
