Walkthrough
- Entryway, to the right (North is a locked door, the end room).
- Main entryway (looking south the stairs with the bars at the top are where the Dragonwilds:lever is to open the final door, the hallway has a patrolling Vault Guardian Hulk.
- Heading down the southern hallway, the room to the left has two Giant Rats and a treasure chest hidden behind the stairs.
- Continuing down the hall, turn right around the corner to enter a large multi-level room. Beware, there are three Vault Guardian Hulks; use the stairs to your advantage to either range them or put them into a chokepoint to take them on one at a time. If engaging with melee, it is advised to cast Dragonwilds:Tempest Shield and Dragonwilds:Enchant Weapon: Fire before entering if you have them.
- Below the entrance to the large room, there is another chest hidden there. Exit the room through the southern door.
- There are three fire traps in the hall; time dodge rolls past each set, and they can heavily damage you if caught inside. Continue following the hall to reach the next area.
- There is a spike room, to the west is a small room with a rat in it, you can use the spikes to dispatch it, otherwise there is no loot there, continue up the stairs on the north side.
- Continue straight down the hall; going west is a dead end, and there are two rats to fight. Just past the doorway is a room with three Vault Sentinels. They attack with ranged, so using cover with your own ranged attacks, or holding up a shield and countering, is very effective to take them out. It is also advisable to cast buffing spells before engagement as with any fight where you are outnumbered.
- After defeating the guardians, you can grab a vault core, these are essential for high-level recipes and Dragonwilds:Lodestones. Be careful as they weigh 50kg and can easily overencumber you if you have also been looting other resources from the vault.
- There is another chest to be found, just off to the left from the statue.
- Continue east out of the room, careful of the traps. The fire can deal more damage than the spikes, but dodge rolls will get you safely past all of them. As the spikes are laid out in a diamond with the points against the walls, the spikes are thinnest there and thus easier to pass if sticking to the wall.
- Once past the traps, you will be in a room with three routes (two clearly visible and one that can be missed), up the stairs to the end boss or south to some optional treasure. North contains a spike room with four rats and no treasure.
- If you stand on the rubble seen in the image facing south, you can see an opening on the wall which can be reached with Dragonwilds:Windstep. Go there, and you will find the third Vault Core, some treasure, and a lever which you can pull to open a shortcut.
- To get to the final boss, follow the stairs to the top, pull the lever, and go through the gate to the starting room that opens, and a new large door will open that contains the boss and his treasures.
- There is a side path for additional treasure, going south first instead of up the stairs that lead to the boss, around the corner to the left is a lever, pull it to open a gate that is past the fire traps.
- After pulling the lever, make your way past two fire traps.
- Past the gate are two Goblin Runts waiting inside to ambush; however, they are much weaker enemies and should not pose much threat.
- After disposing of the goblins, the treasure is just past some more spike traps.
- Back to the main path behind the previously locked door awaits The Vault Overlord, who is a Vault Hulk but with much more health and damage. Remember to buff up and cast combat spells before entering to make the fight more manageable, and to save energy to block or dodge.
- After defeating the Vault Overlord, you can grab the second vault core and loot the chest.
