Usage

Template:Shortcut This template is a modified version of the normal Template:Tl and Template:Tl template, for specific use on sprite template images. It is intended as a way to organize deprecated sprite IDs, and to categorize them separately from other non-sprite images in deletion categories.

A shortcut for this template is also available at Template:Tl.

To add additional custom text, add |text=Extra text here after the very last argument, replacing "Extra text here" with the desired text. The file name is an unnamed parameter and should not include the "File:" prefix.

Deprecrated sprite redirects generally should have the deprecated sprite template replace the active sprite category, to discourage editors from using deprecated sprite name redirects; although non-deprecated sprite redirects may have the active sprite category added to them.

Use the following for sprites that need to be deleted in order to create a new redirect. This will categorize the sprite with a $ flag in Category:Pending deletion. {{Delete sprite|<insert replacement file name here>|redirect=1}}Template:Collapse {{Delete sprite|<insert replacement file name here>|type=redirect}}Template:Collapse

Use the following for a duplicate sprite. {{Delete sprite|<insert replacement file name here>|type=duplicate}}Template:Collapse {{Delete sprite|<insert replacement file name here>|type=duplicate|redirect=1}}Template:Collapse

Use the following for sprites with an outdated name prior to October 1st, 2023, and with no global or local usage. Sprite IDs of removed features do not fall under this category, as long as they use the most recent name before it's removal. Sprite aliases that have never been used as in-game names of their respective features at any point at all in history, can also be added to the "outdated" tag.

Usage of the "unused" tag is required to place in Category:Pending deletion. All sprites are marked with a * flag in deletion categories. {{Delete sprite|type=unused}}Template:Collapse {{Delete sprite|<insert replacement file name here>|type=unused}}Template:Collapse

Specifying a "when" tag puts it in awaiting deletion. The "when" tag should never be added to sprites with the "unused" tag. Incorrect template usage may add the page to Category:Fixme under "9". {{Delete sprite|when=local}}Template:Collapse {{Delete sprite|when=interwiki}}Template:Collapse {{Delete sprite|when=1}}Template:Collapse

Leaving the type= parameter unspecified allows one to prevent deletion categories from appearing, although it will still add the deprecated sprite category (Category:Deprecated sprite names). It is preferred method of deprecating sprites, if a sprite does not fall in any of the above cases. {{Delete sprite}}Template:Collapse
