Minecraft:Wildflowers
More actions
Wildflowers are a thin decorative flower that can be placed four times in the space of one block, similar to Minecraft:pink petals and Minecraft:leaf litter.
Obtaining
Breaking
Wildflowers can be broken instantly with any Minecraft:item or by hand.
Template:Breaking row Wildflowers are also removed and drop as an item if:
- its attachment block is moved, removed, or destroyed.
- Minecraft:water or Minecraft:lava flows into its space.
- a Minecraft:piston tries to push it or moves a block into its space.
- it is placed on a Minecraft:mud block, and that mud block converts to Minecraft:clay.
The amount of wildflower items dropped is equal to how many were present in the block space beforehand (i.e. a wildflower block with 3 placed drops 3 wildflowers when destroyed).
Natural generation
Wildflowers generate naturally in Minecraft:birch forests, Minecraft:old growth birch forests and Minecraft:meadows. Naturally generated wildflowers have a random number of flowers.
Post-generation
Each time Minecraft:bone meal is applied to wildflowers, they drop a copy of themselves, similar to tall flowers.
Wildflowers also generate when bone meal is applied to a grass block in birch forests, old growth birch forests and meadows.
Trading
Minecraft:Wandering traders may sell one wildflower for 1 Minecraft:emerald. Template:Trade sources
Mob loot
Template:IN, Minecraft:wandering traders have a chance of 8.5% (increased by 1% per level of Minecraft:Looting) to drop one wildflower when killed while showing the item as trade offer, if the player holds an Minecraft:emerald.
Usage
Up to four pieces of wildflowers can be placed in a single block space.
Crafting ingredient
Bees
Minecraft:Bees can pollinate wildflowers like other flowers. They can also be bred using wildflowers.
Bee nests
Minecraft:Oak, Minecraft:birch, and Minecraft:cherry trees grown from saplings that are within 2 blocks of wildflowers have a 5% chance to grow with a Minecraft:bee nest containing 2-3 bees.
Composting
Placing wildflowers into a Minecraft:composter has a 30% chance of raising the compost level by 1.
Color
The coloration of the green stems below wildflowers is dependent on the Minecraft:biome they are in. A block always uses the color set to its location, regardless of how it was placed or of its source.
These values are generated by the biome dyeing algorithm. See Biome colors for more information.
