StarCitizen:ATMO Esports
More actions
ATMO Esports roots reach back to February 2018, when Brendon Grove — known in-game as Cor5air — held the first running of the StarCitizen:Daymar Rally, a 360km endurance race across a digitally-created, open-world moon inside the massively multiplayer universe of StarCitizen:Star Citizen. ATMO This was genuinely pioneering territory — no one had organised structured competitive events of this scale within Star Citizen's emergent gameplay sandbox before. The rally drew together enthusiasts, racers, camera crews, and spectators in a way the game's community hadn't experienced.
What Makes ATMO Different
ATMO describes itself as "a different kind of esports company." Rather than competing in established esports titles, they create their own next-level emergent events in digital worlds — leveraging the scope of Star Citizen to build in-game occupations including racing teams, camera operators, live DJs, news broadcasters and reporters, writers, photographers, and even in-game security. ATMO
It's less a traditional esports org and more an event production company inside a video game.
The Event Portfolio
Over the years, ATMO has grown from a single annual rally into a multi-event organisation with distinct brands for each property:
- 🏁 StarCitizen:Daymar Rally — The flagship event. An annual 510km long-distance endurance race across Daymar, a moon in Star Citizen's Stanton system. It has its own dedicated website (daymarrally.com) and remains ATMO's most recognised event.
- ⚔️ StarCitizen:Fight or Flight (FxF) — A dogfighting competition — ATMO's PvP tournament arm Challonge, now with its own site (fightorflight.gg). It has grown into an international championship with group stages, double-elimination brackets, and regional representation across NA, EU, and Asia.
- 🏎️ StarCitizen:System Seven (Stanton 7 / S7) — An emergent ground-racing league Challonge modelled loosely on formula racing formats, with ATMO producing detailed rulebooks each season (Season 5 being one of the more recent). It has its own site at systemseven.gg.
- 💨 StarCitizen:Gravity Rush — A newer racing league addition with its own branding (gravityrush.gg), described as a throttle-over-fear racing competition.
- 💀 StarCitizen:Hurston Hurt Locker — A battle royale event Challonge held on the planet Hurston, adding a combat-focused event to the portfolio alongside the racing content.
- 🎉 ATMO Social (formerly the Greycat Social) — A fun, community-facing casual event that ATMO hosts annually. The Greycat Social was rebranded to the "ATMO Social" so the team could take the event in whatever direction brings them the most joy, no longer restricted to a specific vehicle or format. ATMO

The Company Today
ATMO Esports operates as ATMO ESPORTS PTY LTD, an Australian company based in Queensland. After seven-plus years, they've evolved from a single fan-organised rally to a structured esports organisation running multiple concurrent leagues and tournaments across an entire year, with live in-person events now expanding into Australia. The current focus appears to be on Enter Atmosphere 2956 in Sydney as their next major milestone — their biggest step yet toward a full-scale, live, professional esports showcase on Australian soil.
