First Contact Day is a holiday in the StarCitizen:United Empire of Earth (UEE) held annually on June 12th. First Contact Day commemorates the day the StarCitizen:Human race first encountered an alien civilization.
History
On June 12th, 2438, explorer Vernon Tar was surveying the StarCitizen:Davien System. He encountered a fugitive StarCitizen:Banu ship.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> At first, he believe it was another surveyor traversing the system. Upon realizing his mistake, he sent his coordinates to the StarCitizen:United Nations of Earth (UNE). In response, a diplomatic team lead by General Neal Socolovich arrived to lead the situation. The StarCitizen:Banu Protectorate made formal contact two weeks later. The Interstellar Peace and Trade Accord was signed between the two races in October 2438.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Traditions
Humans celebrate First Contact Day by cooking or purchasing meals from alien cultures, holding parties or small gatherings, and shopping at Banu, StarCitizen:Tevarin, and StarCitizen:Xi'an owned businesses.<ref name=":0" />
