Consistent with its reputation, RSI provides avenues for new ventures through this hauler designed for small crews yet offering significant returns. No matter the challenge or destination, the Hermes accomplishes the task.

The Hermes was specifically designed as a blockade runner «as it has a large cargo capacity, powerful main thrusters, and improved hull health and armor, making it ideal for safely transporting payloads to dangerous places. The largest vehicle the cargo entrance can accommodate is the StarCitizen:Tumbril StarCitizen:Cyclone series.<ref name="QAHRSI">Template:Cite RSI</ref>

2026-01-22	During the StarCitizen:ISC 'Alpha 4.6 Patch Report', StarCitizen:Jared Huckaby mentioned Alpha 4.6 would debut the RSI Hermes, with info expected the following week.<ref name="ISC460">Alpha 4.6 Patch Report</ref>
2026-01-28	The RSI Hermes was released straight to flyable in Alpha 4.6.

• Within Greek mythology, Hermes was the Olympian god of herds and flocks, travellers and hospitality, roads and trade, thievery and cunning, heralds and diplomacy, language and writing, athletic contests and gymnasiums, astronomy and astrology. • His Roman counterpart would be StarCitizen:Mercury, god of boundaries, commerce, communication (including divination), eloquence, financial gain, languages, luck, thieves, travelers, and trickery; he is also the guide of souls to the underworld. It is also the name of a StarCitizen:Crusader Industries blockade runner. Unlike the Mercury, the Hermes doesn't carry data, but can carry more than twice the cargo capacity than the Mercury.
