The Intel Optane SSD 900P was a Solid State Drive using a combination of 3D XPoint™ memory media with Intel’s advanced system memory controller, interface hardware, and software. It was launched on October 2017 during StarCitizen:CitizenCon.<ref name=":0" />

Intel Optane drives were also donated by Intel to CIG, which CIG said helped compile a lot faster.<ref name=":0" />
