Jata is the most populous city of StarCitizen:Cestulus in the StarCitizen:Davien system. Because the planet’s atmosphere is thin, Jata is largely located under enormous, complex biodomes kept habitable by a system of air production facilities that help supplement the oxygen supply.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite RSI</ref>

Jata is Cestulus' most emblematic city, though not technically the world's capital. Located underneath an ever-expanding warren of air production facilities, the city is most famously home to StarCitizen:Aegis Dynamics' corporate headquarters and initial production facilities. The base primarily produces components rather than a particular ship design. More exotic resources are imported and the need is consistent. Beyond Aegis' footprint in the city, the unique "open air" underground cityscape has become symbolic of the StarCitizen:Davien system as a whole.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

Dubbed the "Gateway to the Eastern Empire", the constant stream of haulers that visit Jata have resulted in one of the most vibrant nightlifes to be found in the UEE at the (no longer literal) StarCitizen:Cracked Dome District.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

History

Jata became the StarCitizen:United Empire of Earth’s main center for trade with the Banu after Banu-Human First Contact in 2438. Although Banu-specific trade waned when Humans discovered systems closer to Banu territory, the city has remained a hub of commerce and shipping, partially due to the presence of major spacecraft manufacturer StarCitizen:Aegis Dynamics’ main headquarters.<ref name=":0" />

The city's famous biodomes which enclose the city were designed and built by the famed construction company Wharton Family Construction who were also responsible for the construction of the space port of StarCitizen:Quinton on StarCitizen:Angeli in StarCitizen:Croshaw System.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

Jata has often been the setting of Human political upheavals, such as the 2529 StarCitizen:Unified Currency Riots and the 2546 StarCitizen:Atrocity at Jata, the first in a series of terrorist bombings that led to the implementation of Ivar Messer I’s Prime Citizen plan.<ref name=":0" />
