Sprint reports were born from planned weekly StarCitizen:Star Citizen shows getting cancelled for reasons such as game features not working and thus having no footage to capture. With the next week show's being lost, a new show had to be invented from scratch in just seven days.<ref>Star Citizen Live: Narrative History, Star Citizen, YouTube, 2 August 2024</ref>
