Natural generation
Template:See also Andesite can generate in the Minecraft:Overworld in the form of ore blobs. Andesite attempts to generate in two batches. The first batch generate 2 times per chunk in blobs of size 0-864, from elevations 0 to 60, in all biomes. The second batch has Template:Frac chance to generate blobs of size 0-864, from elevation 64 to 128. Template:IN, andesite can replace stone, diorite, granite, polished andesite, polished diorite and polished granite. Template:IN, andesite can replace stone, diorite, granite, tuff and deepslate.
Template:IN, andesite generates naturally in coral reefs, replacing some Minecraft:coral as part of coral crusts.

Andesite has the same blast resistance as Minecraft:stone, meaning it can be used as a substitute for stone when building.

Andesite can be placed under note blocks to produce "bass drum" sounds.
Sulfur cube
Template:In development Sulfur cubes have the ability to absorb andesite, either through picking it up or being interacted with it. This provides the regular/football effect to the mob when hitting it.

Trivia
- In the real world, Template:W rock comes from above-ground Template:Ws. Finding andesite underground means the world's surface used to be lower, and the lava flow was buried.
- Template:W is andesite's below-ground equivalent: The two rocks come from the same kind of Template:W, but diorite rocks are formed from solidifying underground Template:Ws. The long, slow cool makes it look coarser than andesite.
