The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

It was Mittens that learned how to turn blurite into crossbow bolts. His pet, the blacksmith Gothren, had continued to rely on iron and bronze to get the job done, but Mittens had realised that there was great potential in this strange blue metal. He would ruin sand moulds, crafted by Gothren to forge blurite bars, making them appear as long thin strips. It took more ruined moulds than the cat had hoped for his owner to realise that blurite bolts would match their namesake crossbow.

Whether they were more effective, is of no value to a cat, appearance is, after all, everything.
