Putrilius, the cthonian demon, will tell you that any living thing can be possessed. If needs must, a cthonian can be a cockroach or spider, for a time.

In one desperate moment, after the Dreaming Stone was shattered, Putrilius was forced to possess a maple tree. It wasn't an experience she enjoyed. Most curiously, she found themselves aligning to the maple's inner cadence. Everything slowed. Putrilius barely registered a thought in two years.

What woke Putrilius was a logging axe. Their maple body was toppled and then fletched into an armature. For a moment, as Putrilius's life faded from the wood, she was a shortbow.

It was the closest she had come to dying. With a cognitive spark, she moved from the bow to a passing hound before all her lifeforce ebbed away.
