It also offers music broadcasts, creative content, and "in real life" streams. Twitch is operated by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary of Amazon.
Twitch is one of the many collaborations with Minecraft:Minecraft, typically taking the form of Twitch Drops.
Functionality
Template:Outdated featureAnnounced at Minecraft:MINECON 2013, native broadcasting to Twitch was added in Minecraft:Java Edition 1.7.4.<ref>Template:Cite</ref> This allowed for players to directly stream their gameplay to the platform, as well as integrating chat systems into the game. Several broadcast settings were included, including quality, framerate, bandwidth, send metadata, microphone volume, system volume, compression, enable chat, and user filter.<ref>Template:Citation</ref> In Minecraft:Java Edition 1.8, this functionality was tweaked to require a confirmation before starting, before the functionality was removed altogether in Minecraft:Java Edition 1.9.

Battle of the Boroughs
Template:Main In 2021, as part of a contest for Minecraft:Minecraft Education, a stream was held known as the "Battle of the Boroughs." The stream aired at least twice, the second on Template:Wikipedia.<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref>
Lacoste x Minecraft
As a promotion for the Lacoste collaboration, a stream was aired on March 12, 2022 of gameplay from Minecraft:Croco Island.
Minecraft Legends
Template:Main To promote the release of Template:MCL, a "PVP Stream" aired, showcasing several of the game's combat mechanics. The content creators teonawrites, PotatoPie25, Phineapoo (Thephamilyyt), cosevie, jojosolos, ChicaDeAwesome, Prowl8413, and Kendrisite participated, under the hosting of Minecraft:Craigh Leigh and Minecraft:Martin Garcia.<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref>
MC Championship
Template:Expand section Throughout the years, several collaborations between Minecraft:MC Championship and Minecraft:Mojang Studios have been held on Twitch and at related events. To celebrate Minecraft's Minecraft:15th anniversary, a special edition of MC Championship was hosted known as the Minecraft:Ender Cup. Several major figures in the community participated, including Minecraft:CaptainSparklez, Minecraft:DanTDM, Minecraft:Grian, and Minecraft:LDShadowLady, among others.
A second collaboration with MC Championship, Minecraft:Colour the World, hosted as part of the Twitch convention Template:Wikipedia in 2025, followed by Minecraft:The Copper Crown later in the year. 2026 would see Minecraft:Project G. L. O. P.
D&D Direct
Template:Main D&D Direct is an annual live stream hosted by Template:Wikipedia, dedicated to announcing new content for the Minecraft:Dungeons & Dragons franchise. In 2023, the yearly installment announced a DLC release for the Minecraft:Marketplace.
Minecraft x Dungeons & Dragons D&D One Shot
Template:Main To promote the Dungeons & Dragons collaboration, a "one shot" was hosted. A Minecraft Movie Meal Stream
Template:Main As part of the Template:AMCM campaign, a live stream of Template:AMCM, Template:AMCM, and the Template:AMCM playing the Minecraft:McDonald's Add-On aired on April 6th, 2025.
