Minecraft:Poseidon's Last Play

Summary

As the contestants watch, Poseidon affirms that he is indeed a mortal but "with an axe to grind", being his command block statue. To prove it, he executes a command that immediately spawned a phoenix to attack the contestants as the final mythic legend. Knowing the fight would be easy, Durango throws his stolen trident at the phoenix, who falls on the ground before suddenly rising back to life, shooting fireballs at the contestants. As they run away, Theseus is asked by Quinn about why Poseidon pretended to be a Greek god, and his answer is so that the Greeks would be too afraid to disobey him. At the same time, the phoenix shoots fireballs at two Greeks on a temple, nearly killing them.

While running away, Theseus also says that he was so fearful of his father's trident that his fear kept forcing him to build the trident statue, and that he should have worked more to stop him. Quinn then relieves him by saying that if they manage to destroy the statue, they can stop Poseidon. Meanwhile, as part of a plan, Durango manages to perform a pole vault with his trident so he can ride the phoenix. Annoyed by Durango's rodeo-like behavior, Poseidon immediately executes a command to despawn the phoenix, causing Durango to fall along a cliff and hang on it with his hat.

As all of Durango's friends watch as he hangs in there, Quinn rushes to stop Poseidon, who orders her to be eaten by the Kraken. Soon, he gets stopped by Theseus, who throws a fish at him and invites him to a sword fight with fish. He tells his father that he brought the fish as leftovers from his friends who fended off the Kraken, before the two start fighting with fish. As Durango slips from the cliff, Theseus immediately and barely executes a command on the statue to spawn a bed under Durango, who falls safely.

Afterward, Theseus tells Quinn that the trident statue has a self-destruct command that blows it up entirely. Being entirely unfamiliar with command blocks, Quinn tries thinking of a way to get CommuniKate's attention, who immediately rushes after hearing the word "attention". After being told to execute the command, Kate admits she forgot her code book and eventually teleports the cyclops, the Minotaur, and Cerberus, which she immediately despawns. In another attempt, she accidentally spawns a bunch of chickens on the participants and, out of fear, despawns them. After a successful attempt, everyone starts to run away as the trident statue gets primed. While fighting Poseidon, Theseus tells his father to run away, but the latter feels reluctant because he cannot abandon his statue, but he does so after his son told him that he is here to perish. Soon, the trident statue explodes into a puff of smoke.

After the explosion settles, Poseidok tells Theseus that he still has one thing that matters most to him. As his son thinks it's himself, it then reveals to him that what matters to his father more are the enchanted eyes of ender. He even shows it by opening the Overworld portal. As Poseidon tells his plan of building a new command block statue and take over the world, a griffin arrives from the sky. When Durango thought it's another phoenix, the landing griffin reveals to him ridden by Zeus, who reveals that Poseidon has been a "naughty boy". In disbelief, Quinn thinks there were no Greek gods until she saw Zeus, but the latter answers that he is no god either, having built a command block statue larger than his brother's to power his thunderbolt. With a strike of his bolt, he brings all the ender eyes to himself and asks his brother about how he got the eyes. He reveaks he knew that by watching Season 1 of the game show but started a bit late with the second season, binge-watching it. He then returns the producing right back to CommuniKate and offers the players to return home or do him a favor by helping those in need.
