Minecraft:Sea Lantern

Template:For Template:Infobox block A sea lantern is an underwater light source that appears in Minecraft:ocean monuments and Minecraft:ocean ruins.

Breaking

Template:See also No tool can accelerate the breaking process of sea lantern. Template:Breaking row Sea lantern drops 2~3 Minecraft:prismarine crystals when it's destroyed using a tool without Minecraft:Silk Touch. Template:IN, the Minecraft:Fortune enchantment makes the sea lantern drop extra Template:Cd prismarine crystals at the equal chances, but it is capped at 5. Template:IN, the number of drops is not affected by Fortune.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>
Sea lantern drops itself when it's destroyed using a tool with Silk Touch.

Natural generation

Sea lanterns generate throughout Minecraft:ocean monuments, as well as in some Minecraft:ocean ruins.

Usage

Light source

Sea lanterns emit a Minecraft:light level of 15, the brightest possible light level in the game.

Conduit power

Template:Main Sea lanterns can be used to activate a Minecraft:conduit by building a structure around it. By doing this, the conduit emits the Minecraft:Conduit Power effect in a certain radius, depending on how many blocks are used to power it. Minecraft:Prismarine, Minecraft:dark prismarine, and Minecraft:prismarine bricks can also be used for this purpose.

Note blocks

Sea lanterns can be placed under Minecraft:note blocks to produce "Clicks and Sticks" sounds.

Transparent block

The Sea lantern blocks all sunlight, players and mobs suffocate inside it, and it blocks a beacon's beam, preventing the beacon's activation. However, like transparent blocks, it does not prevent the opening of chests, monsters (including Minecraft:slimes) cannot spawn on it,Template:Only and it does not transfer a redstone signal. This behavior also occurs in Minecraft:glowstone.

Sulfur cube

Template:In development Minecraft:Sulfur cubes have the ability to absorb sea lanterns, either through picking it up or being interacted with it. This provides the regular/football effect to the mob when hitting it.
