StarCitizen:Checkmate Station

Checkmate Station is a space station and headquarters of StarCitizen:Rough & Ready, a group of Outlaws. It is located at the L4 Lagrange point of StarCitizen:Monox. The racetrack StarCitizen:Fool's Run weaves through the station's exterior. Maps for the interior CZ Zone of Checkmate Station can be found on the StarCitizen:Contested Zones page.

Lore

The station was formerly named PYAM-FARSTAT-2-4 and operated by StarCitizen:Pyrotechnic Amalgamated to supply their workers on Monox with fuel and other resources.<ref>CitizenCon 2953, Day 2: Living on the Edge. Development

Checkmate Station was revealed during StarCitizen:CitizenCon 2953 at the Pyro Playground. Convention attendees could get a hands-on experience of the Pyro system ahead of its release to the StarCitizen:Persistent Universe, and would start their journey by waking up here.

After StarCitizen:CitizenCon 2953, CIG randomly selected backers pulled from Digital Goodies Pack owners, Concierge members, and most active testers to give access to the Preview Channel featuring access to the Pyro System and Checkmate Station. This started Tuesday, October 31, 2023 and lasted until Friday, November 10, 2023.
