StarCitizen:Empiric Education

Empiric Education is a StarCitizen:human education software manufacturer and a subsidiary of microTech. Its principal product is the Equivalency software.<ref name="pf17941">Template:Cite RSI</ref>

History

Before its acquisition, Empiric Education was a major producer of education software. StarCitizen:Magnus Tobin insisted on purchasing the company, and after the sale it became one of microTech's most important acquisitions. Tobin then revealed an upgrade that significantly streamlined the code of the company's main product, Equivalency, and enhanced its security, having developed it in secret since modifying his own Equivalency study software in his youth. Beyond the surface-level improvements, the code also included additional background software intended to securely manage every detail of a student's life in order to increase their productivity. His business partner, StarCitizen:Aleena Tressler, noticed that early adopters used these features well beyond studying and saw their wider potential. She encouraged Tobin to develop the software as a standalone product, which eventually evolved into the Glass software that runs on the StarCitizen:mobiGlas and compatible devices.<ref name="pf17941" />
