StarCitizen:Leyland's Tortoise
More actions
Leyland's Tortoise is a species of tortoise indigenous to StarCitizen:Earth, and moderately successfully established on both StarCitizen:Saisei and StarCitizen:Locke. Destruction of their native habitat, mixed with over-collection has made them nearly extinct in the wild. Leyland's Tortoise have glossy shells with very little color variation. They are a favorite among human long-haul spacers who keep them as StarCitizen:pets.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Introduction Attempts
While attempts at introducing Leyland's Tortoise have been moderately successful on StarCitizen:Saisei and StarCitizen:Locke, there was another attempt to introduce them to StarCitizen:Lo in StarCitizen:2875, however the StarCitizen:Banu consumed them at an unsustainable rate, making introduction near impossible.<ref name=":0" />
Pet Trade
Due to their near extinction status, it is illegal to own a captured Leyland's Tortoise. However, so long as it has been bred in captivity, it is a perfectly legal pet.<ref name=":0" />
