It had to feel alien but not oppressive, and kind of a bit holy, which is why the cockpit is also a dome. The ship is meant to show off the Xi'an advanced gravitational technology. During development, lead vehicle designer Mark came to StarCitizen:Alberto Petronio and said "we always do spaceships like they're planes, why don't we have one that looks like a rocket." The ship texture was supposed to be damascus but ended up being something between coral and rock.<ref name=":0">Concept Art for Star Citizen, Blender, YouTube, 23 october 2024</ref>
