Template:Documentation header Template:Shortcut This template is used to close a discussion of a proposal (such as a merge or move) after it has run a decent length of time, and there is either a consensus to not perform the action, or the action was completed.

Usage

Place this template above and below the discussion to be closed. Do not include the section heading of the discussion.

The first unnamed parameter (or result, reason, or outcome) can contain a description of the result of the discussion. Please consider leaving a description to allow other editors to understand why the discussion was closed. If this parameter is set to foot, it will instead add the footer content used at the bottom of the closed discussion, which adds another reminder not to edit it.

The second unnamed parameter can be set to determine the type of discussion; common types are "move", "merge", or "split", which is usually not needed since the type of discussion can be determined by the header.
