Dragonwilds:Fallen Hoplite's Aspis

Template:Infobox Item The fallen hoplite's aspis is a Dragonwilds:power level 5 Dragonwilds:shield that can be crafted at a Dragonwilds:blacksmith's bench after obtaining a Dragonwilds:sundering spiked slab as a rare drop (5/100) from a Dragonwilds:skeletal hoplite. It can be ascended at the Dragonwilds:mystic forge using Dragonwilds:ascension cores.

Its Dragonwilds:special effect is that it has 3 higher Dragonwilds:block value at every Dragonwilds:power level compared to most other Dragonwilds:shields. Block value directly reduces damage taken from attacks linearly, i.e. if you have more block value than an attack deals, you will lose no Dragonwilds:health, your Dragonwilds:armour will be unaffected, and the Dragonwilds:stamina cost to block an attack will be low, lower than dodging that same attack.

This has to be compared with the effects provided by the other shields though, for example this shield will be unable to block dragon fire like the Dragonwilds:anti-dragon shield, Dragonwilds:dragonblight shield, and Dragonwilds:dragoncurse shield (but not the Dragonwilds:dragonfire shield). This shield also does not an offensive benefit like those shield's parry effects or the Dragonwilds:toktz-ket-xil's bonus melee crit damage, although that shield in particular has 6 less block than other shields.
