Minecraft:Nether Fungus

From SAS Gaming Wiki

Template:Infobox block A Nether fungus is a mushroom-like block that generates in Minecraft:the Nether. There are two types of fungi: crimson and warped.

Obtaining

Breaking

A fungus can be mined instantly and always drops itself. Mining a Minecraft:flower pot containing a fungus drops both items separately. Template:Breaking row

Natural generation

Fungi naturally generate in the Minecraft:crimson forest and Minecraft:warped forest biomes, with each fungus most commonly generating in its respective biome and less frequently in the other.

Post-generation

Applying Minecraft:bone meal to Minecraft:nylium causes fungi to appear nearby, similar to Minecraft:flowers on Minecraft:grass blocks. While fungi of both types and other Nether vegetation can generate this way, they are more likely to be the same type as the nylium.

Usage

Placement

File:FungusPlaceBlock.png
All of the blocks that fungi can be placed on.

Fungi may be placed on Minecraft:grass blocks, Minecraft:dirt, Minecraft:coarse dirt, Minecraft:podzol, Minecraft:farmland, Minecraft:rooted dirt, Minecraft:moss blocks, Minecraft:nylium, Minecraft:mycelium, Minecraft:soul soil, Minecraft:mud and Minecraft:muddy mangrove roots. Attempting to place it on any other block fails. Fungi requires a solid block underneath it, and pops off and drops itself if it is no longer supported.

Fungi can also be placed in Minecraft:flower pots.

Growth

When Minecraft:bone meal is Template:Ctrl on a fungus that is planted on matching Minecraft:nylium, it has a 40% chance to grow into its tall equivalent (similar to Minecraft:saplings and Minecraft:mushrooms). Crimson and warped fungi grow into crimson and warped Minecraft:huge fungi, respectively. The stem, Minecraft:shroomlight, or Minecraft:wart blocks may replace certain blocks including Minecraft:slabs and Minecraft:torches.

Breeding

Crimson fungus can be used to breed Minecraft:hoglins and keep them from despawning, but feeding hoglins does not stop them from attacking the player. Warped fungus can be used to breed Minecraft:striders and lead them around if crafted as a Minecraft:warped fungus on a stick.

Hoglins

All Minecraft:hoglins, regardless of age, avoid and run up to 7 Minecraft:blocks away from warped fungus when it is placed on a block or inside of a Minecraft:flower potTemplate:Only<ref>Template:Bug</ref>. Held warped fungi and warped fungi on sticks do not have this effect.
