Trivia

The ship is named after Antares, a prominent red supergiant star recognized as the most luminous star within the ancient constellation of Scorpius. The etymology of the name originates from the Ancient Greek term Ἀντάρης, which translates to "rival to Ares," reflecting its reddish coloration that bears resemblance to the planet Mars. Antares is situated in the southern celestial hemisphere, positioned near the center of the Milky Way galaxy, approximately 550 light years or about 170 parsecs from Earth, and is visible to the naked eye.
