StarCitizen:Constellation series/History

From SAS Gaming Wiki

Model History

Mark I

The Mark I Constellation had a two-person cockpit, and no snub ship. An example of this vessel is the StarCitizen:Plumetail.<ref name=":1">Template:Cite Jump Point</ref><ref>Template:Cite Jump Point</ref>

2918 Model

The 2918 Model is regarded as a poor model, and a rare misstep for the company. This model did come equipped with a StarCitizen:P-52 Merlin. The StarCitizen:Harlequin is an example of a 2918 model.<ref>Template:Cite Jump Point</ref> This may be synonymous with a 'Mark II' Constellation, but this is only a speculation based on the date and description.

Mark III

Mark III Constellations were in production by 2934 at the latest, and considered standard in 2942.<ref name=":1" /> The StarCitizen:Constellation Phoenix concept was originally based on a Mark III Constellation.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite Jump Point</ref>

Mark IV

Mark IV Constellations were planned for release in 2942, but this was later pushed back to 2944.<ref name=":0" /> While they did launch for sale that year, the vessels were branded as the 2945 Constellation variants.<ref>Constellation Aquilla Ship Brochure</ref><ref>Constellation Andromeda Ship Brochure</ref><ref>Constellation Phoenix Ship Brochure</ref><ref>Constellation Taurus Ship Brochure</ref>

Development

The original four variants for the Constellation were designed by StarCitizen:David Hobbins and StarCitizen:Gurmukh Bhasin. Once their work was complete, CGBot converted all four ships into CryEngine, with contributions by StarCitizen:Dennia Aguilar (3D Artist), StarCitizen:Chuy Alanis (Lead Artist), amongst others.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> In February 2016 the Constellation got an additional revamp by StarCitizen:Chris Smith (Lead Vehicle/Weapon Artist) and StarCitizen:Josh Coons (3D Modeler).<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

The Constellation Phoenix went through a rework since its release in the StarCitizen:Hangar module, and it was released in Template:Alpha.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
