MacArthur (Kilian V) is a StarCitizen:habitable planet in the StarCitizen:Kilian system and the seat of the StarCitizen:UEE Navy.<ref name="galactapedia">Template:Cite RSI</ref> The planet was terraformed to Human specifications, and most of its surface is occupied by StarCitizen:MacArthur Naval Base, the largest Navy base in the UEE, which houses the Navy's headquarters, shipyards, academies, boot camps, and hospitals. As a result, civilian travel on the planet is tightly restricted.<ref name="navalbase">Template:Cite RSI</ref> MacArthur is named after a famed army general of the previous millennium, an irony its naval personnel are said to enjoy.<ref name="kilian">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Military presence
The base's surface facilities include boot camps (known locally as Forges), officer training programs, flight academies, and medical centers.<ref name="galactapedia" /> Tens of thousands of naval aviators train on the planet each year, and most major fleet exercises are planned and coordinated here.<ref name="kilian" /> StarCitizen:Forge Echo and StarCitizen:Forge Quintus are two known surface locations, though it is not confirmed whether either offers landing services.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
The StarCitizen:Kilian system maintains one of the heaviest standing military patrol presences in UEE space, comparable only to deployments along the StarCitizen:Vanduul frontier.<ref name="kilian" />
Orbital infrastructure
MacArthur is encircled by spatial moorings, drydocks, and shipyards operated by major spacecraft manufacturers, including StarCitizen:Anvil Aerospace and StarCitizen:Roberts Space Industries.<ref name="galactapedia" /> Some of the largest vessels in the known universe are assembled here, among them the Bengal-class strike carrier.<ref name="kilian" />
The concentration of military and industrial demand makes MacArthur a profitable market for merchants supplying processed ores, weapons components, shield generators, and other capital-ship materials. A black-market trade catering to the planet's large transient crew population also operates locally.<ref name="kilian" />
MacArthur has hosted the StarCitizen:UEE Naval Flight Academy since 2632, making it one of the oldest of the StarCitizen:United Empire of Earth's service academies. The academy commissions officers into the UEE Navy; most graduates go on to combat squadrons, while others crew capital or support vessels.
