StarCitizen:Quantum enforcement device
More actions
An Quantum Enforcement Device (QED) is a vehicle component that disrupts a vehicle from utilizing its StarCitizen:Quantum Drive to StarCitizen:Quantum Travel. It is capable of operating in both StarCitizen:Quantum Enforcement modes:
- Quantum Snare: pulling vessels out of StarCitizen:Quantum Travel and preventing from engaging StarCitizen:Quantum Travel
- Quantum Dampener: preventing the engaging of StarCitizen:Quantum Drives thus preventing StarCitizen:Quantum Travel and the use of some StarCitizen:Master Modes

Confusion with Quantum Dampeners
Due to its name people often assume the Quantum Enforcement Device (QED) to be the only device used in StarCitizen:Quantum Enforcement. In actuality StarCitizen:Quantum Enforcement makes use of multiple devices, mainly the Quantum Enforcement Device (QED) and a device simply called the StarCitizen:Quantum Dampener (QDMP). The difference between the two being that a QED can use both a Snare and Dampener while the QDMP, like the name suggests, can only use the Dampener.
It should be noted that a Quantum Dampener (QDMP) is NOT equal to a Quantum Enforcement Device (QED) and are in fact considered separate devices.<ref name="RSI Zeus MK2 Q&A">RSI Zeus MK2 Q&A</ref>
As an example people often say the StarCitizen:Cutlass Blue has a QED. This technically wrong as it actually just features a StarCitizen:Quantum Dampener component, making it incapable of utilizing a Snare.
