Prismarine crystals are items obtained by defeating Minecraft:guardians or Minecraft:elder guardians. They are used along with Minecraft:prismarine shards to craft Minecraft:sea lanterns.

Mining
Prismarine crystals are dropped by Minecraft:sea lanterns when not using a Minecraft:Silk Touch tool. They drop 2–3 crystals each time, which can be increased to a maximum of 5 using the Minecraft:Fortune enchantment.
