Template:Infobox item A gold ingot is a Minecraft:metal ingot used to craft armor, tools, and Minecraft:items, and also used as currency for Minecraft:bartering with Minecraft:piglins.
Obtaining
Gold ingots are mainly obtained by smelting Minecraft:raw gold, Minecraft:gold ore and Minecraft:nether gold ore, or just mining nether gold ore, dropping gold nuggets. Gold generates more frequently in Minecraft:badlands biomes.

Usage
Crafting ingredient
As a material for weapons, tools, and armor, gold is not a straight upgrade from iron (except in the case of Minecraft:horse armor). Gold has a higher mining speed and enchantability than any other material, but low attack power and durability.

Gold ingots are the repair items for the gold Minecraft:tier and thus can be used to Minecraft:repair the following items in an Minecraft:anvil:

Template:Main Minecraft:Piglins throw the player item(s) if the player throws or Template:Ctrl a gold ingot on them.
Beacons
Gold ingots can be used to select powers from a Minecraft:beacon. The player must select one of the available powers and then insert an ingot in the item slot.
A gold ingot can be substituted for an Minecraft:iron ingot or Minecraft:netherite ingot, an Minecraft:emerald, or a Minecraft:diamond.
