Template:UnobtainableTemplate:Removed feature Template:Infobox biome The snowy taiga hills or cold taiga hills biome is a hills variant of the snowy taiga that no longer generates since Minecraft:Caves & Cliffs: Part II, and was removed in Java Edition.
Description
Old
Like all other hills biomes, snowy taiga hills featured hillier, more erratic terrain. These hills were somewhat steep, making this variant difficult for survival. Although this was a snowy biome, rivers generated inside snowy taiga hills were not replaced by frozen rivers. Pillager outposts and villages generated in this biome,Template:Only however, unlike the regular snowy taiga, igloos didn't generate here.
Current
Template:IN, snowy taiga hills in older worlds still received updates. When generated through Minecraft:single biome or Minecraft:behavior packs, they can also generate new blocks.
They appear similar to the current snowy taiga. Minecraft:Animals spawn here with their cold variants and Minecraft:wolves use their ashen variant. Unlike regular snowy taigas, Minecraft:trail ruins do not generate. A higher snow accumulation value causes most snow to generate stacked.
With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, snowy taiga hills use a coolish humid volumetric fog setting, which slightly fades the distance in an orange tint. Snowy taiga hills have strong cold color grading which tints the environment with an icy blue color, and cold sunlight which appears slightly brighter at dusk and dawn.
Mobs
Snowy taiga hills use the same mob spawning chances as snowy taigas.
