Template:For Template:Infobox structure An igloo is a Minecraft:structure sometimes generated in Minecraft:snowy taigas, Minecraft:snowy plains, or Minecraft:snowy slopes and built mainly of Minecraft:snow blocks.
Generation
Igloos generate uncommonly in Minecraft:snowy taigas, Minecraft:snowy plains, and rarely in Minecraft:snowy slopes.
Structure
An igloo is shaped like a small dwelling made of snow blocks. It has an entrance without a door and a Minecraft:carpeted interior containing a Minecraft:bed, Minecraft:furnace, and Minecraft:crafting table. There are two windows made of ice blocksTemplate:Only/packed iceTemplate:Only<ref>Template:Bug</ref> and one Minecraft:redstone torch as a light source.
Half of all igloos have an oak Minecraft:trapdoor under the third carpet from the doorway, leading down a long Minecraft:ladder shaft to a basement. This passageway and the basement are built from Minecraft:stone bricks, some of which are Minecraft:infested blocks with Minecraft:silverfish. To the left of the ladder is a table made of stairs blocks, with a Minecraft:brewing stand containing one Minecraft:splash potion of Minecraft:weakness and a Minecraft:flower pot holding a Minecraft:cactus. Beside the table is a Minecraft:cauldron two-thirds full of water. To the right is a Minecraft:chest that contains a Minecraft:golden apple. Beyond the far wall, behind Minecraft:iron bars in two different cages, are a Minecraft:villager and a Minecraft:zombie villager.
Igloos that generate without a basement have a snow block in place of the trapdoor. The villagers, the brewing stand, and the chest are absent in this case.
If an igloo with a basement forms partially above open-air<Clarify—Does this mean that the basement is partially aboveground? Or that part of the structure is above air blocks?></Clarify—Does this mean that the basement is partially aboveground? Or that part of the structure is above air blocks?>, the shaft with the ladder still generates.

Template:IN, the generated villager is always unemployed and is a plains biome type.<ref>Template:Bug</ref> The villager cannot pathfind to the Minecraft:brewing stand or Minecraft:cauldron to take on a profession unless some of the blocks confining it are broken. The generated zombie villager always has the profession of cleric and becomes unemployed if cured.
Template:IN, the villager is the snowy type with a random profession. The zombie villager is unemployed but can change its profession to cleric or leatherworker after being cured because it can claim either the brewing stand or the cauldron.
One may access the individual structures of an igloo by using Minecraft:structure blocks to manually load them from the Template:Code folder in Minecraft:version.jar. To do so, set a structure block to Load mode, enter Template:Code, and press Template:Code. The individual structures are Template:Code.

Trivia
- Template:IN, if a number of items in the igloo Minecraft:furnace are smelted, the light generated melts the igloo window, turning the Minecraft:ice into a Minecraft:water source block.<ref>Template:Bug</ref> If the igloo has a basement, this can reveal the trapdoor leading to it.
- An igloo with a basement qualifies as a village Template:In due to having a Minecraft:villager, a Minecraft:bed, a Minecraft:brewing stand, and a Minecraft:cauldron, with the last 2 blocks counting as job sites. Template:IN, however, the villager (or the zombie villager, if cured) must have a path to access either job site, which must be claimed in order for the igloo to register as a village. This means a Minecraft:raid can be triggered in an igloo.
- An igloo can sometimes generate on a cliff, on a mountain, over a cave, or on a floating island, causing its basement to be exposed.
- Igloos can generate deep down due to generation bugs, causing the basement ladder to lead to the Minecraft:void, without generating a proper basement.
